How to Send Email to Submitter

This guide explains how to send an email to participants after they submit a form.
Participants will receive a copy of their submitted information as confirmation.
Follow the steps below to connect an email template with a submit action.

Steps to Set Up Email to Submitter

Step 1: Create an Email Template

  • Create an email template by following the steps in How to Create Email Templates.

  • Ensure the template includes the necessary content and form fields to be shared with the submitter.

This email template will be used when sending emails after form submission.

Step 2: Add a Send Email Submit Action

  • Create a new submit action by following the steps in How to Create Submit Actions.

  • When prompted to select the action type, choose Send Email.

  • Name the submit action Send Email to Submitter for easy identification. Then, click Save.

Step 3: Set the Submitter as the Email Recipient

  • Click Add Selected Email Template.

  • Select the Email Template you have created.

  • Tick Include Submitter as Recipient.

  • Under Participant Email Field, choose the email field from the form.

  • Click Save.

Step 4: Save and Apply the Configuration

  • Go to Form Settings. Under Submit Logic, click Add to add a Default Submit Action.

  • Select the Submit Action you have created .

  • Click Save to confirm the configuration.

  • Once completed, click Send for Approval to request the form to be published.

Important Note: Setting the Primary Email Field

If the Participant Email Field is not selected in the submit action, you must configure a Primary Email Field to ensure the email is sent to the submitter.

Steps to Set the Primary Email Field

  • Go to Form Settings.

  • Under the General section, locate Primary Email Field.

  • Click Add.

  • From the list of available fields, select the Email Address field created in the form.

  • Confirm that the selected email field appears under Primary Email Field.
